Rob was an incredible coach throughout my Dancing on Ice Training. I would never have thought I would have been able to progress as quickly as I did and finally finish as Runner Up.

He made me believe in myself and without him I'm sure i would not have been able to and do some of the crazy tricks and lifts I did.

Rob is a top coach. He not only motivated and pushed me throughout the series but he also made my skating sessions fun and that's what it's all about!

"Jackie and I after a rather shaky start at Romford Ice Arena in July, decided to enrol in skating lessons.

Assigned to Robert Burgerman's beginner's group, with his tuition we continue to make good progress through the 'levels' of the Skate UK programme.

Rob's attitude and patience with mixed ability groups strongly underlines his passion for figure skating which makes us delighted to recommend his coaching skills the novice and the advanced skater alike."

"Having spent my entire life clinging on the side of the rink I knew I had to do something about this problem and with some will power and courage to take on the challenge to learn how to ice skate. I got in contact with Romford Ice Rink who passed on my details to Rob, I got the call from Rob to say that he could see me one Sunday for half an hour lesson, I was thrilled to have the one on one tuition. Rob made me feel at ease on the ice and is always there if I ever fall or just needed to keep my balance. He has so far taught me to actually skate without clinging on the side and now I am learning a few more different skills to take to the ice rink at Christmas time! I would like to recommend Rob to anyone and everyone - he is not only a great guy to have a chat with whilst your learning but is a terrific teacher and really encourages you to keep the motivation going. Roll on a few more months and we may be able to do a routine straight from Dancing On Ice!""

"I am a recreational skater with a passion for ice dance. I have been skating for more years than I dare to reveal and like most recreational skaters of my generation enjoy the challenge of trying to correct bad habits whilst hopefully improving my technique.

I have been having lessons with Robert for about 3 months. He was very quick to point out my "problem areas" and I am pleased to say that he has also been extremely good at helping me to make adjustments that stretch me enough without pushing me beyond my capabilities as a mature skater. Robert has helped build my confidence enormously which is probably the most important thing that any professional coach can ever do. I look forward to my lessons each week and always walk away with a smile at the end of every lesson having learnt something new."

"Rob has been coaching me for just over a year. He always manages to pitch my lessons at the right level, not only making them fun but also challenging in order to get the best out of my skating. His ability to spot exactly what I am struggling with, his patience and positive attitude towards teaching has been invaluable. Rob has helped me achieve so much, inspired me, and given me a true love of skating."

"I can only speak in the highest of terms for Rob - he has been teaching my daughter, initially as a beginner within a group, but now on a 1 to 1 basis. My daughter is inspired by Rob and has gained in both confidence and skill.

I would urge any parent who is looking for a tutor, with both the temperament and skill to coach their children, to choose Rob. He makes your children believe they can achieve anything and, as in the case of my daughter Lily, has given a shy 11 year old a real belief in herself and her ability and desire to compete at the best she can."

"Although Rob has only been coaching me for about 3 months, I feel I have learnt lots in a short space of time.

I have a 150 mile round trip to Romford but it’s well worth it as my lessons are both enjoyable and constructive, each week I leave feeling I have improved. Rob is encouraging and very patient and takes time to explain techniques clearly and concisely.

We always have fun as well, which is always a good way to learn, you have to enjoy what you are doing. My lessons are always varied and differ from week to week in terms of what we practise or new steps we learn – I always look forward to my lessons and come away feeling a sense of achievement – thanks to Rob.

I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone – whether you are a beginner or more experienced or an adult or a child – I feel very lucky to have him as a coach"
